The report, China MedTech Industry Yearbook – 2020 Edition, is the seventh yearbook presented by G-MedTech Research since 2014. Covering key segments of China medical device & IVD industry such as policies & plans, manufacturers, distributors, and end users, it presents both current situation and future trends with detailed data and analysis.
Medical device products in China are composed of equipment, instruments, In Vitro Diagnostics (IVDs) and other related materials, and are classified into three categories for supervision. Sales volume of medical device products in China was US$ 90.3 billion in 2019 with a CAGR of 16.8% from 2015 to 2019, which makes China one of the largest medtech markets in the world. It is also expected to reach US$ 100 billion by 2020.
Key activities of top medtech players in the past year, including both multinationals and locals, have been presented and analyzed with the aim of identifying their focuses and strategies in China.
Medical device end users in China, mainly hospitals, community health centers in cities, and township health centers, are analyzed with their scales including patient visits, sick beds, and medical professionals. There are total 1,007,545 healthcare institutions in China by 2019 which is 10,112 more than last year, including 34,354 hospitals, 954,390 grassroots healthcare institutions, and 15,924 specialized public healthcare institutions. They will have different requirements on medical device products based on their scales, budgets, and government supports.
Policies and development plans in the recent years are also presented with brief analysis of key points and their impacts on medtech industry.
